Who we are
The Ocean State Havurah (Havurat HaYam) is a nonhierarchical home for antizionist spiritual life that is deeply rooted in Jewish tradition.
We are committed to dismantling systems of oppression and building a more liberated future. We celebrate and uplift spiritualities from across the Jewish spectrum and beyond, fully welcoming Jews and nonJews of all statuses in the Greater Rhode Island area to partake fully in this community.
We gather on the unceded lands of the Narragansett, Wampanoag, and Pokanoket people.

About our logo
Designed by Noam Mason-De Faria, our logo combines our community’s Hebrew name (Havurat HaYam- Havurah of the Ocean) with quahogs, a staple bivalve indigenous to the Narragansett Bay, and poppies, a symbol of Palestinian liberation.
